Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

PRESIDENT's Corner
This week, I want to take a moment to acknowledge something many of us are feeling, even if we are carrying it quietly.
Our Nation has experienced loss. We have said goodbye to Elders who carried knowledge, language, and lived history. We have also lost a respected leader who stepped forward to serve our people. Each loss is felt deeply not only by families and friends, but across our communities. In these moments I am reminded how connected we are, and how much each person contributes to the strength of our Nation.

We're moving forward on our
journey to self-government.
The Métis Nation within Alberta has a long history of organizing and political participation. Métis in Alberta have stood together and pressed governments to respect our Métis rights and treat our claims fairly since the end of the 19th century.
L’Association des Métis d’Alberta et les Territories du Nord-Ouest was founded in 1928 (the predecessor of 1932’s Métis Association of Alberta (MAA), 1991’s Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA), and today’s Otipemisiwak Métis Government) for the express purpose to lobby the federal government to respect Métis land rights. We have kept with that work ever since.
Through the decades, our singular focus has been: to build a strong Métis Nation embracing Métis rights.
